Configure a Fortinet firewall to forward syslogs

1. In your Fortinet user interface, navigate to System Settings > Log Forwarding.
2. Click Create New, then in the Create New Log Forwarding pane, input or select the following values:
   • Name: LogForwardActZero
   • Status: On
   • Remote Server Type: Syslog
   • Server IP: the IP you assigned to the VM when you created it
   • Server Port: 514
   • Reliable Connection: Off
   • Sending Frequency: Real time
3. Click OK to save.
4. Navigate to Firewall > Policy and ensure every rule has the Log Traffic checkbox turned on.
